Nara Chakra Calculator

The Nara Chakra (नर, "the human figure") lays the 27 nakṣatras down the length of the body — the Janma (Moon) star at the crown, its predecessor at the feet. Enter a birth or event moment and this tool computes all nine grahas, then shows exactly which part of the body each planet touches. Benefics on a limb bless and heal it; malefics mark where to guard the flesh.

Give the date, the clock time as it read on the wall, and the city — the time zone and its historical daylight-saving offset are looked up for you, so you never have to work out a UTC offset by hand. The nine planetary longitudes are then computed in your browser in the sidereal (Lahiri) zodiac. Prefer your own chart software's exact positions? The Full Nara Chakra — Head to Feet

Position 1 is the Moon's own nakṣatra (the head); each following nakṣatra in natural order steps one region down the body, ending at the feet. Rows carrying a graha are marked.

How to read it. A natural benefic (Jupiter, Venus, well-disposed Mercury, waxing Moon) sitting on a body part supports and can heal that region; a natural malefic (Saturn, Mars, Rāhu, Ketu, Sun) marks a part that wants protection, and its dashā or a hard transit there can flag a vulnerability. When a planet is transited by another graha over that same nakṣatra, the body part is activated — benefics promote recovery, malefics call for care and remedy. This is a contemplative and preventive map, not a diagnosis.

How the numbers are made. The clock time you give is converted to Universal Time using the IANA time-zone rules for the city you chose — including the daylight-saving and war-time rules in force on that date — and then to Terrestrial Time with a ΔT model, so the ephemeris is fed the right instant. Sidereal positions use the Lahiri ayanāṁśa (J2000 value carried forward by the IAU 2006 precession polynomial). The Moon follows Meeus's truncated ELP-2000/82 series (agreeing with his worked example to the sixth decimal, ~10″); the Sun follows Meeus's solar theory with aberration. Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn use Schlyter's method with the great-inequality perturbation terms and a light-time correction — typically better than a couple of arc-minutes, so verify a graha sitting within a few arc-minutes of a nakṣatra boundary against your own ephemeris. Rāhu and Ketu may be taken as the mean node (the Vedic default) or the true osculating node, which can differ from the mean by up to ~1.7°. The Nara Chakra body sequence and its head-to-feet logic follow the classical nṛ / nara figure as taught in contemporary nakṣatra medical astrology. No record is retained of your entries; the city lookup sends only the place name you type to the Open-Meteo geocoder.
