Ask Charak

A conversational guide to the Charak Samhita. Every answer is drawn — and cited — from the public online edition at carakasamhitaonline.com.

Tap the owl to begin

Ask anything about Ayurveda's foundational treatise. Ask Charak will answer using only what the Charak Samhita Online text actually says — never modern medical advice, always with sources you can click.

The owl also waits in the lower-right corner of the page — tap it any time to open or close the chat.

Try asking

Tap a question and the owl opens with it already typed in — just press Send.

How it works

Ask Charak is a retrieval-augmented chatbot. When you ask a question it searches a vector index of the entire Charak Samhita Online corpus, retrieves the most relevant passages, and then writes an answer using only those passages — with inline citations linking back to the source pages. If the source doesn't cover your question, the bot will tell you so rather than guess.

Not medical advice

Ask Charak is an educational reference tool. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional. Questions about specific dosages, drug interactions, diagnoses, or care during pregnancy or for children will be politely redirected to a practitioner.
